Technical Report WRD94031 Viewed at 15:07:29 on 29/07/2010 Page 24 of 34. 3. R.ESULTS STUART HIGHWAY Bore RN 29012 (grid ref 987-108, 1:100 000 map Gorrie) penetrated approximately 40m of clays and fine sands overlying limestone and siltstone of the Tindal Limestone to a total depth of 121.8m. Composite logs of the holes are included in the attacr.r.ments" Pump test.ing subsequent ly determined a high yield for che bore and an extraction rate of lOLls has been recommended. If higher extraction ::-ates arc> ::-equi::-ed, Water Resources Division should be consulted . Bore Rt,< 29013 (grid ::-ef 292-450, 1: 100 000 maD Larrimc.h) was drillec through 32.5m of clays and fine sands overlying limestone to 95.7m. Basalt of the Antrim Plateau Volcanics was encountered to the total depth of 103.3m. Pu,np testing again determined a high yield fo::- the bo::-e and an extraction rate of lOLls nas been recornrner:.ded. If h':'gher extraction rates are required, Water Resources Division should be consulted. ~llater quality results fr:JID samples taken during pump testing are included in Table 1. The bores yielded water of potable quality {AWRC/:I:.J1Il'tI:RC, 19B7) except for high total dissolved solids caused by excess hc.rdness. These parameters are not directly health related ,s.~d reflect the carbonate source rocks in ;:he area. Regular inspectior: OJ: pumps and fittings is recommended to ensure that scale buildup does not affect the operation of the bores. DELAMERE ROAD Bore Rl'J 29090 (grid ref 191-009, 1:100 000 map Killarney) was drilled through siltstones, limes':ones and mudstones of the Nontejinni LimestDne to a depth of approximately 60m overlying basalt to a total depth of 70~7m. A small seepage of water was encouncered at the limestoneibasalt interface, however not enough to provide a '!lace::- supply ~ The hole was sealed at the surface and left open to depth for fu:::-ther monitoring.
