Technical Report WRD89054 Viewed at 15:07:01 on 29/07/2010 Page 6 of 7. Previous groundwater drilling in this formation carried out by Water Resources during December 1985 for Baarniyngur outstation indicated that the Raiwalla Shale has poor groundwater potential. In this formation the aquifers could be expected in secondary porosity only, but geological structures in this area are not common. Sites in close vicinity of Balingura were selected on distinct lineaments trending north. Three bores intersected the Raiwalla Shale Formation to a maximum depth of 10 8 Sm and were unsuccessful. No fractures were struck in any bore. Three bores 25895, vicinity of the unsuccessful. . .. 3. RESULTS 25896 and 25897 were drilled in the outstation and drilling were 4. RECOMMENDATION Hydrogeological study and investigation drilling show that the Raiwalla Shale Formation has poor groundwater potential. Only a small supply of groundwater could be expected in fractures. Therefore future drilling in the close vicinity of the outstation for groundwater does not appear to be feasible. It is suggested be considered community. 96:HYGE01 that surf ace water supply should rather as a future water supply for this
