I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I APPENDIX D - Peak Day Peak/Average Flow Ratio Curves are available for the Darwin area which plot consumption versus time of day for a number of use age types. From these, the peak/average flow ratios can be determined. Also, the actual/average flow ratio for any given time of day can be determined. From Appendix C, approximate percentages of total consumption are : Residential Commercial Industrial Irrigation 51% 33% 2% 14% Because of the high percentage of residential consumption, it will be assumed that the peak hour occurs at the peak residential consumption hour - 5.30 PM to 6.30 PM. Based on local discussion, it will be assumed that public area irrigation will not take place during this peak period (generally such irrigation occurs through the day). The peak/average consumption ratios for each use age type for this period are : Residential Commercial Industrial Irrigat-ion 2.2 0.9 1.1 0.0 Therefore, the peak day peak/average flow ratio = (0.51 x 2.2) + (0.33 x 0.9) + (0.02 x 1.1) = 1.44, assuming that peak day distribution - average annual consumption distribution.
