Scour may occur near the Alice Spring at t~e Old Telegraph Station during floods of return periods larger than about six years. If scour does occur, its effect could easily be remedied by suitable rehabilitation of the reach downstream of the dam. Most scour will occur between the primary spillway and the Schwartz Crescent causeway_
