I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I 1985/86 COOPER WET SEASON REPORT PRELIMINARY DRY SEASON WORK The following activities were performed prior to the beginning of the wet season in the catchment. NABARLEK AREA 1. 2 3 4. 1. 2. 3 Base camp was stocked with all necessary fuel and equipment from Darwin. Three new sampling/gauging sections in the mixing zone upstream of GS 821.0024 were identified and surveyed. TBM's and staff gauges established at each new section and surveyed to AHD. Maintenance and check surveys of staff gauges on all dye test sampling/gaugings sections on Cooper Creek and billabongs between Nabarlek and Nimbuwah. Temporary river height recorders were installed on Buffalo and Kadjirrikmarnda Creeks. BlRRADUK CK (GS 821.0047) Maintenance of gauging station structure. High stage gauging cross-section cleared and new cross-wire installed. Access to station upgraded and re-tagged. MT. BORRADAILE (GS 821.0016) 1. Maintenance of gauging station s=ructure. 2. 3. 4. 1. 2. 3. High stage gauging cross-section relocated, cleared, surveyed and new cross-wire installed. New camp site located and cleared. New chopper strip cleared. COOPER PLAINS Base camp stocked with all necessary fuel and equipment from Darwin. Reconnoitre of plains downstream of GS 821.0048 (CROCODILE POND) to establish and peg new station site and gauging/sampling section. New plains water level recording station GS 821.0074 (DEAD TREE PLAIN) constructed.
