Tariff 3, for an applicable area, means an amount specified in the table for that area for a journey: (a) made wholly within that area; and (b) starting on a weekday within the period starting from and including 6 am and ending immediately before 6 pm; and (c) for which a multiple hiring rate applies. Tariff 4, for an applicable area, means an amount specified in the table for that area for a journey: (a) made partly within that area that starts at any time on any day, or made wholly within that area that starts: (i) on a day other than a weekday; or (ii) during a weekday outside the period starting from and including 6 am and ending immediately before 6 pm; and (b) for which a multiple hiring rate applies. Tariff 5, for an applicable area, means an amount specified in the table for that area for a journey: (a) made wholly within that area; and (b) starting on a weekday within the period starting from and including 6 am and ending immediately before 6 pm; and (c) for which a high occupancy rate applies. Tariff 6, for an applicable area, means an amount specified in the table for that area for a journey: (a) made partly within that area that starts at any time on any day, or made wholly within that area that starts: (i) on a day other than a weekday; or (ii) during a weekday outside the period starting from and including 6 am and ending immediately before 6 pm; and (b) for which a high occupancy rate applies. waiting time means the number of seconds of waiting time that is to elapse before a charge of 10 cents may be made for a journey. weekday means any day other than Saturday, Sunday or a public holiday. 4. A high occupancy rate applies in relation to a journey only if: (a) the journey is for a pre-booked carriage of 6 or more passengers in the taxi; and (b) the taxi has been approved for such a carriage. 5. A multiple hiring rate applies in relation to a journey only if: (a) a high occupancy rate does not apply in relation to the journey; and (b) the journey is undertaken for a passenger who has agreed to multiple hiring of the taxi within the meaning of the Regulations. 6. Subject to clauses 7 and 8, the maximum fare or charge for the hire or use of a taxi for a journey made wholly or partly within an applicable area is the sum of the following: (a) the amounts worked out in accordance with the table for that area for the flagfall, the distance travelled, and the waiting time, for so much of the journey as is made within that area; (b) any applicable airport exit toll. 7. If the journey is a special journey made wholly or partly within the Nhulunbuy area the maximum fare or charge for the hire or use of the taxi for so much of the journey as is made within that area is worked out as follows: (a) if the journey is of a duration of one hour or less $41.90; (b) if the journey is of a duration of more than one hour: (i) for the first hour $41.90; and (ii) for each hour or part of an hour after the first hour $21.00. 8. If a taxi is soiled by a passenger in the course of a journey, the maximum amount that may be charged for the cost of cleaning the taxi is $50.
