I7 June 1998 That whereas in relation to the Council's function of sanitation and garbage, the Council provides or is willing and able to provide a regular garbage service to all land in the Municipality (except such land as the Council from time to time determines excluded from the provisions of such service.), the Council, pursuant to section 74 of Local Govemment Act hereby declares the amount of the annual charge for the regular garbage service comprising a maximum of one '240 litre garbage bin' collected weekly to be $139.00. The total amount it intends to raise by garbage charge is $197,184.00 for 1998/99 provided that: (i) should a ratepayer so request, up to a maximum of a further one '240 litre garbage bin' will be collected in conjunction with the regular weekly garbage service for a further annual charge of $139.00 (ii) should a ratepayer request for a daily pick up garbage bin/bins will be collected on each day of the week (other than Sunday and public holidays and those days on which the regular weekly garbage service is provided), ie 5 days, for a further annual charge of $408.00 (iii) should a ratepayer so request to not have their rubbish removed by Council and prefer to remove their rubbish to the Municipal Dump themselves, the Dump fee of $1064.00 will apply. (iv) in accordance with Council Policy there shall be no discount for vacant Lots for garbage charges for 1998/99. (d) That for the purposes of Section 80 of Local Government Act the Council determines that rates and charges shall for the year ending 30 June 1999 be payable within 30 days (06 August 1998) from the date of issue of the Rate Notices, with discount or within 120 days (03 November 1998) from the date of issue of the Rate Notices, without discount. (e) That pursuant to Section 81 of Local Govemment Act ,the council determines that a discount of 5% of the rates payable (excluding charges) in respect of the year ending 30 June 1999 shall be granted to persons liable to pay rates who, within 30 days from the date of issue of the Rate Notices, pay the full amount of the rates and charges payable provided that: (i) in the case of pensioners receiving other forms of rating concessions, such discounts shall apply only to the portion of rates actually paid by such pensioners.
