The Power and Water Authority Employees Award 1988 and the Professional Engineers (PAWA) Award 1988, if applicable, shall apply. PROVISIONAL PROMOTIONS AND TRANSFERS AU permanent promotions, permanent transfers, temporary promotions over six months and temporary transfers over six. months to notified vacancies are provisional and subject to appeal. VACANCIES NORTHERN REGION Technical 4, $40538-44605, Darwin. Duties; Supervisor Mechanical Operations, Aboriginal Essential Services. Provide technical instruction on, and supervise the testing, fault diagnostics and commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems associated with power gener2.tion. Supervise and administer operational, maintenance and capital works contracts including assessment of community viability to undertake such contracts. Manage all aspects of fuel supply for power generation on communities. Selection Criteria: Essential: A relevant certificate in Technology, or equivalent qualification andlor several years relevant experience; current Drivers Licence; extensive experience in the preparation and supervision of contracts and a demonstrated knowledge of programming, budgeting and management of work programs. APPEALS AGAINST PROVISIONAL PROMOTlO:>OS AND TRANSFERS The general conditions and procedures for appealing against provisional promotions and transfers within the Power and Water Authority are the same as those detailed on the front page of the Gazetre, with the exception of the following. Notice of appeal must be in writing, posted or delivered to the Office of the Central Promotions Appeal Board, Third Floor, Harbour View Plaza, Comer Bennett and lvlcMinn Streets, Darwin, or GPO Box 4371, Darwin, NT 0801, by close of business on the fourteenth day after the date of notification of the Provisional Promotion or Transfer in the Gazette. Physical 3, $487.20-568.20 per week, Darwin. Duties: Plumber, Network Operations. Undertake various tasks associated with the operation and maintenance of the water and sewerage reticulation systems for Darwin and surrounding areas, including maintenance of valves, pipework, fire hydrants, connection of new mains, installation, disconnection, repair and testing of water meters, preventative cleaning maintenance and blockage clearance using pressure machines, rods and winches. Liaise with householders on blockage or overflow complaints. May be required to attend emergency calls after hours. Selection Criteria: Essential: Appropriate plumbing trade certificate, along with a current Drivers Licence. Extensive knowledge in the use and maintenance of water supply and sewerage pipework and fittings and previous experience with a waler or sewerage reticulation system similar to Darwin's is highly desirable.
