PAGE 4 PRESS JULY 2010 EDITION Notes on Calculation of 2010 / 2011 Garbage Charges for Domestic, Commercial and Rural Properties Council has determined that it will apply full cost-recovery principles to determining garbage and waste charges to be levied. The information below shows how the charges have been calculated in relation to Councils costs and the level of subsidy in prior years that Council has determined cannot be sustained. Domestic Garbage Charges Domestic garbage charges were calculated as set out in the table below. Contracted costs included in the budget have decreased by $7,544. The increase in garbage charges is wholly attributable to the change in policy to a full cost recovery model. Commercial Garbage Charges Commercial garbage charges were calculated as set out in the table below. Contracted costs included in the budget have decreased by $2,433. The increase in garbage charges is wholly attributable to the change in policy to a full cost recovery model.
