Tiwi Bombers Inaugural Best & FairestPresentation Night Saturday nights Best and Fairest presentation night was a great success with players, sponsors and volunteers all joining in to be part of the first Club presentation. What a night it was!!!! Kantillas function room at TIO stadium was a very fitting venue, being named after one of the Tiwi football legends, and thanks to so many people it was all done up and decorated making it a real gala setting. Good food , drink and the company of the friends from the Bombers family were all parts of the nights success. However, the night was about recognising people, particularly players for their ef forts during the season. The Clubs gratitude and appreciation to the sponsors and volunteers who make it all happen each week was passed on to those people with Peter Baldwin being awarded the Volunteer of the year. The other volunteers voted to select Peter as I found it difficult to chose between the many people who have done so much. Peter has the challenging task of managing logistics and he does it so well. Thank you Peter. There was probably no surprise that Mark Fitzsimonds was the spectator of the year in recognition of his very vocal and entertaining supporters comments during the games. Well done Mark and I hope your discussions with the security staff continues to be one of mutual understanding. I just had to present a little something to Karl ( 60 Minutes ) Gundersen for all of the boxes that have been ticked so far. Congratulations to Karl for his Coaching and direction this year. Well done and thank you. The coaching panel were asked to select recipients for 4 sponsor awards and the following were the winners Shorelands Group - the Most Improved Player Taylor Ullungura Andrananguwu Land Owning Group -Best team Man - Nathan Pilauki Mantiyupwi Pty Ltd - Most Committed Player - Patrick Heenan Tiwi Land Council - Rookie of the Year- Anthony Tipungwuiti The leading goal kicker was Ephrem Tipungwuti with 52 goals. This award was sponsored by Pe ter Baldwin and we thank him for that support. Ten Strong Men......the top ten Tiwi Bombers in the 2009/10 Best & Fair est Awards at Kantillas on Saturday night......(Left)
