In the Territory we have two plants for the grinding of cement clinker and the manufacture of quicklime. The Darwin plant has a capacity to produce 250,000t cement per annum and includes raw materials handling, cement grinding, storage silos, bagging plant and dispatch facilities. The Mataranka lime operation includes a quarry-situated 30kms to the east, producing up to 90,000 tonnes of crushed limestone. Based at the Cement Grinding facility located at East Arm, approximately 20 minutes from the centre of Darwin, an opportunity exists for a team-oriented and pro-active Shift Operator. The shift operator is a permanent shift role, with well-compensated overtime. You will report to the Plant Supervisor and you will work mostly unsupervised, in pairs. Some of your duties as Shift Operator may include: The operations of the loading system (Clinker and Limestone) Loading of bulk products Working with stockpiles to ensure continuous supply to the mill Conducting quality assurance processes within a Laboratory environment. Understanding and providing assistance to transport operators with regards to products and loading systems. There will be some autonomy in making decisions to ensure good plant availability, output and quality.
