STRATEGIC MINE PLANNING ENGINEER Crocodile Gold Australia Operations is commencing gold mining and processing operations in the Northern Territory at the Tom's Gully, Brocks Creek, Cosmo/Chinese and Union Reef projects. Based in Darwin (Humpty Doo), the company is looking to expand it's reserves through a rigorous exploration programme. We are currently seeking applicants for a range of positions that will support the company through the start-up phase into long term production. This is a wonderful opportunity for an individual to gain valuable mine surveying experience whilst studying. As a Cadet Mine Surveyor you will be responsible for assisting with the delivery of surveying operations to our underground and open pit mine sites. Reporting to the Senior Surveyor your key responsibilities will include: Providing detailed survey maps Assisting in the management of the survey database Supply line and grade for underground headings Survey underground as-builts workings and update Survey volumes of the open pit and stockpiles as required On going development to become a degree qualified surveyor. The successful applicant will possess the following capabilities: Either be able to obtain entrance to a tertiary surveying course or currently undertaking tertiary studies in surveying Strong computer skills Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills Be highly motivated and driven A team player with the ability to work autonomously. These environmental roles are hands on enabling you to gain valuable experience. Reporting to the HS&E Manager, and as part of a close knit and dynamic team, your key responsibilities will include: Implementing and administering environmental and rehabilitation programmes Participating in audits, monitoring and assessments Liaising with government departments on environmental matters Assisting with internal and external reporting. Specifically, ensuring its continual efficiency and availability for our team of geologists. As a full time permanent position based in Darwin your key responsibilities will include: Management and support of drill database and spatial data systems within the region Development and maintenance of an integrated, comprehensive geoinformation and drill database system Provide or facilitate formal and informal training on the application of GIS (Mapinfo/Discover) and acQuire drill database software Service the region for drill database requirements and relevant hardware/software needs including travel to site as required Manage the regional development group's GIS and drill data hardware/software requirements including licensing maintenance and licence server monitoring.
