The Site As a wholly owned subsidiary of OM Holdings, OM Manganese owns and operates the Bootu Creek Manganese Mine in the Northern Territory 120 kms North of Tennant Creek. The process plant produces a 42% manganese product at an annual rate of 700,000 tonnes. T M P W P 0 8 2 3 2 7 Environment Offi cer The Role This critical role is to ensure our Environmental Management practices and commitments are in compliance with company and statutory requirements. You will interact with senior management and stakeholders whilst providing support to the operation and having a proactive approach. You will provide technical advice on statutory approvals, aid in the preparation of regulatory reports; implement various environmental management systems and plans whilst providing education to company personnel. Reporting to the OHS&E Manager your specifi c duties will include but not be limited to: Complying, planning and reviewing the environmental management plan and systems, promoting research and development, liaising with Government representatives, conducting environmental audits, and leading specifi c projects as required. Conducting environmental inspections and actioning any corrective actions Identify improvements in the Projects environmental management system and management initiatives. Effi cient completion of other assigned tasks as directed by the OHSE Manager. Carry out environmental monitoring, rehabilitation and research activities. Supervise and monitor compliance with environmental site policies and relevant legislative requirements including completion of regular audits. The Person OM Manganese Ltd is looking for people who are ready to make a difference. You will have strong communication skills and produce quality work with a strong emphasis on safety. Ideally you will have between 2-3 years experience in mining environments coupled with the relevant Environmental degree. Graduates are encouraged to apply.
