P A G E 2 The year to come...2009 D A G A R A G U S P O R T S & R E C R E A T I O N C E N T R E What was 2008 Lets take a look back at some of our achievements and what we did in the little of 2008 that we had. July Opening of the Victoria Daly Shire Council. VDSC logo was created from a painting done by Timothy Dumoo. First Payroll run. August Large amounts of Training across the Shire commenced. Council Committee Meeting held. Performance Reviews and Learning Plans Started September First VDSC Newsletter Yarralins entrance road was sealed. Sandra went to Bali October OH&S Committee formed. First Council Elections. Tamini Regional Development Partnership was signed. Head Office gained support for there new office First Shire Services Managers Meeting Airstrips at Peppi and Palumpa was sealed. November First council formed & first Mayor elected. First real Council meeting. First Shire Services Managers Meeting. Night Patrol Conference took place. December First Christmas Party Shire Election Review Wadeye received a new rubbish truck and aged care vehicle. On the 10 Dec 2008 the Northern Territory Government Department of Sport and Rec reation handed over the keys to the newly refurbished Sport and Rec centre at Dagaragu. This building has an indoor basket ball court, facilities to show movies and has a well appointed kitchen for community groups to use. The people of Dagaragu can now have endless hours of sports, en tertainment and cooking sessions. What a big year 2009 is going to be, there will be plenty happening across the Shire, hard work and goals to achieve. Here is some of what's in store for us. A new Collective Agreement Job Scoping of all positions New Pay Scales OH& S Committee up and running Delivery of IT Services to Shire Service Centre's. LGMA Annual Conference Dog Health Visits Urban Enhancement Program Timber Creek Look Out V I C T O R I A D A L Y S H I R E C O U N C I L Henry receiv ing the keys from Re becca Bryan Financial Systems will go on line. Review of the My Learning Plans. A New Learning Plan will be created. Planning workshop for the Shires 09/10 Business Plan. Uniforms will be allocated to staff. Night Patrol will start in Timber Creek. Head office will move into one location. We will welcome new staff members and we will farewell old staff members. Sandra will go off to Bali again. Thats just to mention a few things that we have in store. Before we know it we will be knocking on 2010s door. The new Kitchen
