"Writer W.M. [obscured] arrived Naval Headquarters 56 Mitchell St. Darwin 18 Oct. Base then known as Penguin [obscured] later renamed HMAS "Melvill[e]" in 1940 dry season Navy were premier team in NTCA competition remained 27 months in 'Melvill[e'] missing air raids narrowly. Later served afloat "Adelaide" "Ipswich" "Nepal" "Norman". 1943-45 Retired RAMR in Rank of [Lieutenant Commander(S) obscured]".

Abstract

Base then known as Penguin [obscured] later renamed His Majesty's Australian Ship "Melvill[e]" in 1940 dry season Navy were premier team in Northern Territory Cricket Association [?] competition remained 27 months in 'Melvill[e'] missing air raids narrowly. Later served afloat "Adelaide" "Ipswich" "Nepal" "Norman". 1943-45 Retired Royal Australian Naval Reserve in Rank of [Lieutenant Commander(S) obscured].
