Base then known as Penguin [obscured] later renamed HMAS "Melvill[e]" in 1940 dry season Navy were premier team in NTCA competition remained 27 months in 'Melvill[e'] missing air raids narrowly. Later served afloat "Adelaide" "Ipswich" "Nepal" "Norman". 1943-45 Retired RAMR in Rank of [Lieutenant Commander(S) obscured]".

Later served afloat "Adelaide" "Ipswich" "Nepal" "Norman". 1943-45 Retired Royal Australian Naval Reserve in Rank of [Lieutenant Commander(S) obscured].
The quilt was assembled between 1992 and 1994. It was first put on display at the Northern Territory Library in 1995.; Quilt section
