Inter-Arts Grants: The Australia Council for the Arts Closing 1 December The purpose of the Inter-Arts category is to support artists investigating new artistic practice through interdisciplinary and hybrid arts who wish to engage in research and development, creative development and/or production. A project can span more than 12 months. E: mail@australiacouncil.gov.au Invitation to Submit Articles for Music Forum Magazine Closing 1 December You are invited to send articles for possible publication in the Music Council's Music Forum Magazine. The sections of the magazine are: Music and Musicians, The Affairs of Music, Research, Music education and Music Play for Life. Articles are usually between 500 and 4,000 words. Eight young Australian songwriters and composers will win cash and prizes to the value of $16,000. Winners will be announced March 2009. Established & emerging: artists, ceramicists, curators, installation artists, new media artists, musicians, performance artists, photographers, sculptors, textile artists and writers are invited to apply for the 2009 season of residencies in Hill End. Successful applicants spend four weeks living and working in either Haefligers or Murrays Cottage during the period March 2009 to March 2010. Regional artists are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for a fully funded residency courtesy of Country Energy. For application details visit: W: www.hillendart.com 2008 City of Albany Art Prize Call for entries Closing 12 December The competition is open to all Australian artists who work in two dimensional painting. First prize is $25,000 cash and a four week residency in a self contained studio cottage in Albany WA with an additional $2,500 for expenses. The grant aims to encourage and increase opportunities for high-quality performing arts to tour to regional and remote areas; distribute Australia's performing arts more equitably and assist the Australia-wide delivery of high quality performances; expand audiences for quality, innovative and uniquely Australian productions by increasing the diversity and frequency of performing arts experiences available to Australians; foster awareness of the performing arts and encourage cultural growth in the Australian community; promote more viable touring circuits and assist the development of a national touring infrastructure.
