I am pleased to advise that the meeting was well attended and after some very positivc discussion on a range of issues, the following juniors were elected as the new office bearers. Commodore Zoe Chilmar Vice-Coinmodore: Libby Ewens, Secretary: Libby Collins, Members: James Chilman, Damian Gough, Leigh Richardson, Rohan Langworthy, The commiftee has a good mix of both junior and senior juniors and having now seen the results of the committees first meeting post AGM I am confident that the ju[iors can look forward to a year with a range of both sailing and social activities, An example of what is happening is that Zoe Chilman and Leigh Richardson with willing support from Jemy Simondson have successfully reintroduced the Secondary Schools Team Racing Comperition, which commences on the 86 May. At this stage I understand that there are three teams from DanMin High, three from Kormilda and a composite team made up of sailors from Sanderson, Nightcliff and O'Loughlin College. Wdl Done!!! The Junior Helm race is on again this year on Saturday 22d July so all those boat owners who wish to secure one of our top junior sailors will need to get in quick as sailors are being signed up fast. We had tremendous support ftom boat owners last year, which resulted in a very successful event and one that juniors really look forward to so lets do it agarn. The Mimow National's preparation is progressing well, but we desperately need people that are willing to provide billets. If you can help please let Rick Edmonds or myself know ASAP. At this stage the indications are that we have 14 plus boats from Victoria, 7 from Gove, 7 - 9 t oats from Queensland and our growing Darwin fleet which equals 40 plus minnows for the event. I look forward to seeing you at the club or on the water on opening day. Regards Peter Chilman 1000 YrarDoolr nor oroiloDle $d
