Page 6 The Log March 1993 Genenal M ebruary, like the three months that preceded it, was an exnemely quiet period. The inclement weather certainly didn't help. Sales are down some 16"/, for both bar and bistro compared to the same period last year. This means that to survive, expenditure cuts must be made and these must be supported by our members. Plainly put, this means rcducing seryices and cutting assistance to sailing activities. To maintain budget, it is imperative for members to paftonise the place a lot morc than what they are currently doing. Our members should be rying to encourage other nonattending members to come down, and must plan to share the Club with friends and bring them down when they come. This can only help boost sales and allow the Club to oontinue to remain viable. On a positive note the Social Committee met on the 20th February and have put together some good social events for March. Each Wednesday there will be a theme night in the bistro, and with Margaret wyatt, our new chef, putting her best foot forward, "theme food" will really be something different! A Quiz Night is organised for Wednesday 17th March. The Club turns the Big Three O on the 26th March, and the Birthday party is on dre 27th March. Mark these dates in your diary and look out for the posteN which will be Lucky Badge Draw Drawn every Thursday between 17:30 and 2030 hrs. You have to be there to win!!! displayed arcund the Club advertising all the events. Supporting these occasions only adds to the bettrment of your Club.
