Page 4 Indigenous Academic Support News Canberra Investment Corporation (CIC) is a national developer of master planned communities and buildings. CIC has prepared a Reconciliation Action Plan as part of the National Program of Action in association with Reconciliation Australia. One of CICs commitments in that plan is to employ an Indigenous cadet under the National Indigenous Cadetship Project sponsored by the Australian Government Department of Employment and Workplace Relations. Cadets must be tertiary students at a university, tafe college or similar. The cadetship will include financial study assistance in addition to 12 weeks paid work experience each year for the duration of the cadetship. Limited financial assistance with accommodation and travel costs for the 12 week placement may also be available in circumstances where the work placement is located beyond reasonable daily travel distance from the cadets place of residence. CIC is not fixed on employing a student of any particular profession or in any particular locality but rather someone who will work well with our existing operations be that in Canberra, Darwin or Adelaide. Students of engineering, urban planning, architecture, marketing, project management and accounting are encouraged to apply. The cadetship provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable work experience to fast track your career. Interested persons are required to submit a written application including details of the course of study being taken, grades achieved to date, and employment history and contact details of referees. Questions regarding the cadetship should be directed to Michael Nolan on 02 6230 0800 or michael.nolan@ciclimited.com.au. Written applications should be received no later than 9 February 2007.
