Published photograph of the Telegraph Fleet anchored in Darwin Harbour by Captain Sweet. L-R: side by side the Gulnare and the Bengal, Hibernia, Investigator, Edinburgh. These ships were involved in the construction of the Overland Telegraph and the laying of the submarine telegraph cable to Java. The Gulnare brought surveyor George Goyder to Darwin in 1869.
