Responsibility is taken by the Editor, NT News, GPO Box 1300, Darwin, NT, 0801 ON TERRY MILLS MEDIUM-TERM BACKING OF THE FRACKING INDUSTRY, BUT REALISATION IT WONT SAVE THE TERRITORY ECONOMY Poisoning the groundwater and the soil and adding to global warming while flogging off gas for a couple of cents per cubic metre is OK for now. Good plan. Peter Collins The Territory could always start up a new sport of Croc wrestling for politicians only....If they sold it like a pay per view boxing match they would solve world finances in 2 months. Steven Schulz How is fracking viable? Have asked the question dozens of times and yet to get a single $ value answer. How much do Territorians get per litre of gas? We pay over $1- a litre at the pump. Fracking benefits Politicians only, plain and simple. Bynoe Steve Everyones forgotten the 30% power price hike, Foundation 51, and his promise for faster service at MVR. John McCluskey ON DARWIN RESIDENT RHYS SHEARERS MOHULLET Is no one going to acknowledge those beautiful curls? Sara Frank Please tell me hes coming to Kurri Kurri NSW, for Mulletfest this year. Liz Matthews Well done Rhys buddy, but the hair flick needs a bit of work, a few more green tins will fix that. Christopher Paul ON CORALIE AND CONNELL BRANELLYS AUSTRALIA DAY RECOGNITION Congratulations Coralie Brannelly and Connell! Great to see you being recognised for all your hard work xx Raelene Blackmore OMG congratulations to you both. Lots of hard work right there. Tania Harris Congratulations to you Coralie and Connell xxx Rhonda Cunnington ON MANY THINGS Port in storm? Go see, as an Australian company, if you can take out a 99yr lease on a port (esp in a military zone!) anywhere in China. The response will give a clue how incredibly stupid & shortsighted our temporary, local NT hick politicians were. & Canberra, asleep too (dumb pollie, transaction defenders still are). For 15 minutes I was held up by immature fools in foreign made utes bearing Chinese made Australian flags. Whos going to reimburse my wasted petrol? Congratulations to all Northern Territorians who earned honours and recognition in the Australia Day Honours List. And thanks to all Territorians (there are many) who put their best foot forward in sincere determination to better our place each and every day. Appreciator If we cannot have a Dan Murphy in Darwin, maybe we can have it in Palmerston or Coolaliga? Nic I could never understand (and still dont) how the Giles Government could claim the leasing of Darwin Port to Landbridge as a fantastic deal. Its leased for $507 million for 99 years. $5.12 million a year for such a huge facility is more paltry than fantastic. Bemused Yeah $89 flights to Darwin for domestic tourists. So why does it still cost us so much more to go south unless you book 6 months ahead? Harold Holtze Just visiting from the Gold Coast and love reading the local paper and having a coffee, found the best coffee, ice cream and staff at Cool Spot Fannie Bay, always very busy so no name text from Saturdays opinion will not be missed. Barry Christie, Upper Coomera CoD orange scooter initiative didnt take into account leavin on the footpath. 3 left on Fri near NT News offices block in the footpath for mums pushin prams & the wheelchair-bound. So we pay 10c fee on some tin n bottle n got refunded when recycled. Ive been recycling thousands of them x decades in my yellow bin. N where is my refund out of my rates bills? Phil Coralie and Connell Brannelly have been awarded Order of Australia Medals for service to the Darwin community Picture: CHE CHORLEY World wide web NEWS@NTNEWS.COM.AU txt the editor 0428 NTNEWS
