20 NEWS SATURDAY NOVEMBER 2 2019 NTNE01Z01MA - V1 Block stars harsh reality Ex-TV show contestant charged over Tinder date attack KATE KYRIACOU AND ALEXANDRIA UTTING REALITY TV star and former Penthouse pet Suzi Taylor has spent the night in prison after she allegedly extorted and bashed a younger man who came to her apartment in New Farm in Brisbane for a Tinder date. A court heard the former The Block star shouted give me my money, give me my money as another man, her alleged accomplice, entered the room and kicked and punched him in the face. Taylor was refused bail after it was revealed in court she was already facing charges for her alleged involvement in a burglary last month. She will now remain behind bars until at least next month. The 49-year-old, who appeared on the 2015 season of The Block, fronted court yesterday charged with extortion, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm, possession of a dangerous drug and breaching a bail condition. She spent the hearing in prison greens, turned side-on in the dock so journalists and members of the public would be unable to see her face. Her co-accused, Ali Ebra himi, was charged with the same offences after the pair allegedly attacked the 33year-old man at Taylors New Farm apartment on Wednesday, forcing him to make an online transaction before taking his bank card and withdrawing money. Neighbours from Taylors riverfront unit, where she has been staying the past few months, said it had been used for many parties. One neighbour said she heard loud screams while walking on Thursday morning. Just before 6am, I heard this loud sort of scream, she said. I didnt know where it was coming from. Other neighbours reported as many as 12 police officers were at Taylors apartment yesterday. The court heard Ebrahimi allegedly began kicking and punching the man in the face after he arrived at the innercity apartment while Taylor allegedly yelled: Give me my money, give me my money. Taylor also assaulted the man. The pair allegedly also held the man against his will. Taylor was yesterday refused bail by magistrate John McGrath after the court heard she was already on bail for unrelated offences. The court heard the man, aged 27-29 during the time of offending, was found guilty on nine separate charges on two girls under the age of 10, while their mother who he had a domestic relationship with, was out of the house. Justice Judith Kelly said despite verbal and physical resistance the man orally, vaginally and anally raped his stepdaughter aged under 10 years old on multiple occasions while her mother had left her children in his care. These are extremely serious offences. Using that little girl for your own sexual gratification without any thought to her wellbeing was a gross breach of trust, she said. A child should feel safe in her own home and this child had no place to go where she would feel safe. The man also indecently assaulted her older sister, also his stepdaughter, touching her over her clothes before presenting his erect penis to the girl, then under 10 years old an act that had occurred multiple times. The court heard the two girls had been traumatised from the incidents, which took place between February 3, 2016 and July 1, 2018, and were undergoing counselling. (One of the girls) struggles to endure physical contact with others, Justice Kelly said. When someone touches her she wants to have a shower she showers compulsively, up to five times a day. She sometimes becomes anxious when men talk to her or when people talk to her her stomach aches and she feels sick. The mother had also suffered emotionally, physically and financially. A non-parole period of 12 years, backdated to July 6, 2018 was imposed. *Limit one redemption per eligible member.
