In 1977, Rob Wesley-Smith from the Animal Industry and Agriculture Branch visited Murwangi, on the edge of the Arafura Swamp near the junction of the Glyde and Goyder Rivers. During the trip Wes collected seeds from the local native palm, the Corypha elata. Wes gave them to George Brown who planted them in the Darwin Botanic Gardens and there is a stand of them there today (May 2019). Wes took photographs and documented his trip which looked at the country, cattle and people of Murwangi.,
