Abstract

The scope of work for this study is the development of a regional three-dimensional groundwater model to assess the development potential of groundwater resources to support existing and proposed horticulture development in the Middle Point area. The model was to have features to simulate: • The geological features of the regional groundwater system; • Wet season rainfall recharge; • Evapotranspiration from native vegetation and horticulture; • Discharge from surface water features; and • Particle tracking to trace the potential movement of saline groundwater onto the Middle Point area. The model was to be calibrated to the available Middle Point monitoring data and to the patterns from longer term monitoring data from nearby Lambell’s Lagoon.,
