WEDNESDAY MAY 15 2019 BUSINESS 33 V1 - NTNE01Z01MA PRBA ADVERTISING FEATURE The second Winemakers Dinner will be held on June 15 at Club Tropical Picture: SUPPLIED WITH sure signs that the dry season is just around the corner, its time to book the diary with outdoor events and what better than an evening of great food and wine under the stars. Carers NT and Carpentaria will present their second Winemakers Dinner on Saturday June 15 at Club Tropical. The evening will feature five courses perfectly matched to the finest wines by acclaimed winemaker Charlie Scalzi from his Gods Hill vineyard in the Southern Barossa Valley. The Gods Hill range of wines have been passionately created by Charlie and his family to a traditional style practised since Roman times in the Campania region of Central Italy. Following in the footsteps of his ancestors, Charlie has been involved in the production of fine wine since a child in Italy. After migrating to Australia, his family continued to practice traditional wine making in his home cellar, hand-picking grapes, crushing and making wine. Established in 1998, Gods Hill specialises in small batch boutique wines of the finest quality. The combination of naturally occurring fertile soil, minimal use of chemical additives and the deeply respectful winemaking methodology makes for a wine experience that is unique. When making wine my actions are controlled by my perfectionist nature to everything I do in life, and most importantly how well can I serve the consumer Food and wine have been my upbringing in a culture which is renowned as one of the best in the world. Plus my thirst and passion for food and wine (which I have experienced in my 60 years of life) culminates the winemaker that I am today, says Charlie. The 2019 Wine Makers Dinner promises to deliver fine wine and food in a beautiful setting under the stars. Entertainment includes The Kicks and Master of Ceremonies, Rick Knight. With raffles, an auction and lucky door prizes raising funds for Carers NT and Carpentaria this is set to be a night to remember.
