Abstract

Sensitive High Resolution Ion Micro Probe (SHRIMP) U���Pb detrital zircon dating was conducted on eleven sandstone samples from the greater McArthur Basin of the Northern Territory. Samples were collected from Palaeo- to Mesoproterozoic formations of the McArthur, Habgood, Nathan and Roper groups (McArthur Basin), and from the Limbunya Group (Birrindudu Basin). Four ungrouped units from the northern McArthur Basin were also analysed.
