Mount Skinner geological sketch map showing cupriferous outcrop, drillhole locations and surface sampling. Compiled from company reports and Haines (2004), after Dunster etal2007. 1.5 m of 1500 ppm Cu at 115.9 m depth in BH3. Kennecott concluded that highest grades were solely surface enrichment and ceased operations in late 1966 (Halliday 1966). Following a review by Grainger (1968a), the Mines and Water Branch of the Northern Territory Administration drilled four cored holes (Mount Skinner to 4) totalling 596 m, which penetrated the Central Mount Stuart Formation and entered older sedimentary rocks beneath. Anomalous Cu continues downdip in the Tops Member, but not at an economic grade. The highest Cu assay was 6500 ppm for a 0.3 m interval at about 203 m depth in Mount Skinner 3. However, this hole unexpectedly intersected two intervals of elevated Pb and Zn that seemingly occur independently of Cu. One .5 m interval in the Grant Bluff Formation
