Newsletter ~ Monday 24th February 2020 https://us7.campaign-archive.com/?u=6a6b0cfafebf2f5f89550f76c&id=834e005371[7/04/2020 11:55:21 AM] Cassia Two Something to write in your diaries: Every term we come together for a Cassia parent teacher evening on Thursday evening in the third week at 7.30 pm, except in term one, as we have had our class meeting in week one. Our Cassia festival is on the last day of the term, Thursday the 9th at 11 am, ending with a shared lunch. The children are dropped off at school at the normal time and you are invited to then join in the festival later in the morning. The children go home after lunch. The festivals celebrate the season and are preceded by much learning in the three to four weeks leading up to them. They are a central part of the curriculum. The children look forward to them with great anticipation and are excited to share what they have been doing with you. We know it may not be possible, but it is wonderful if you can plan your holidays accordingly. As we all gather together, our children gain a deep sense of community and belonging. This week there were many moments of delight in learning new things. Some of us: Learnt to finger knit! Set up beautiful stories and told them to their Cassia class. Learnt how to use the frames and boxes and boards inside to build cubbies. Are fixing things with the ladder and toy tools. Love the delight of mud play. Saw our first native passion fruit flower and tasted the fruit. Are problem solving and working as a team trying to move a big log in the garden. Enjoyed patting and feeding the guinea pigs. With love, Susanne and Karen PRIMARY CLASSES Class One
