Newsletter ~ Monday 24th February 2020 https://us7.campaign-archive.com/?u=6a6b0cfafebf2f5f89550f76c&id=834e005371[7/04/2020 11:55:21 AM] Class One enjoyed starting on the journey toward reading and writing this week! Great enthusiasm from everyone, and we all had fun making letters with our bodies, our cushions, movements, and of course with crayon to paper. We learned that special symbols, called letters, can represent a story, a picture, a rhyme, and of course a sound. So, if you hear all about the mischievous monkeys, feathery ferns, and tip-toeing tapirs youll know why. We even tried our hand at writing some words, but with only three letters. All we could come up with so far was MFT which is the sound you make when someone hits you with a pillow. We cant wait to learn more letters this week! This week were looking forward to getting into knitting with our Class Six buddies on Thursday. Well start a few more bits of craft, and get some new songs into our morning circle. We also have our first birthday this week which starts a cascade of celebrations in March. Happy birthday Letitia! Reminders: Our aquarium is almost ready for fish, but wed like some help populating it and keeping everyone fed. As mentioned at the parent meeting, wed like every child to bring $15 toward the aquarium fund. Donna and I will be collecting this in the morning before school. Have a beautiful week! Pam Class Two
