MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS: Wednesday 8 May 2019 Ms Uibo moved the following amendment. Omit the words 'discontinue its policy of' and insert in their place 'consider alternatives to its policy of". Mrs Lambley, Mr Higgins, Mr Wood, Mr McConnell, Ms Ah Kit. On the motion of Mr Guyula debate was adjourned. 12. MOTION: AGRIBUSINESS Mr Higgins (Leader of the Opposition), pursuant to notice, moved: That this Assembly: recognises that the agribusiness sector is a critical part of the Northern Territory economy; notes with concern a number of future policy decisions will have a detrimental impact on this sector; and calls on the Government to complete a Strategic Ian in consultation with the sector. Mr Wood, Mr Kirby. Mr Kirby moved the following amendment. Remove all the words after This assembly' and replace with: recognises that the agribusiness sector is a critical part of the Northern Territory economy; notes that change in domestic and international market conditions, environmental factors, logistics infrastructure and government decision-making all impact on the success of the agribusiness sector; and Government will continue its work with the agribusiness sector in developing and implementing co-operative plans to build agribusiness in the Northern Territory.
