We strive to be a responsive, progressive, sustainable council which respects, listens and empowers the people to be strong. Core Business From local government funding, we provide essential and municipal services in the towns and communities across the Barkly Region. From the funding of the Commonwealth and Northern Territory governments, we provide contracted agency services to our residents. Income from property owners and ratepayers and service charges from the provision of services supports both local government and agency services. Core Competence Through our work in the regional communities, we have developed a strong understanding of how to best serve the needs of those communities. Barkly Regional Council contributes to our region by valuing all of its members and providing services to individuals, families and communities in ways that respect their dignity and culture and fulfil their needs for community services that provide safer communities. We provide a stable platform for workforce development and program delivery across our region.
