Role of Infrastructure Directorate The Infrastructure Directorate is responsible for the core services of Council and is a significant and integral part of Council in its delivery of: Roads/Path construction and maintenance Traffic management (on Council roads) Storm water management Facilities management and maintenance sports facilities and amenities; Council offices; civic buildings; gazetted cemeteries; parks and gardens; dams; Waste management waste collection and disposal; landfill management of various categories of waste with the exception of listed wastes (hydrocarbons, chemicals, asbestos) This directorate is also responsible for: Capital works program Councils own and some Local Authority projects Procurement writing and calling public tenders; evaluation of public tenders; bidding for Government tenders; contract management Asset management lifecycle management, condition assessment and replacement and disposal of assets Project management Grant based and self-funded projects Weed management Management of the Tennant Creek Municipal Depot Management of all Council fleet maintenance heavy machinery, vehicles, plant and equipment Maintenance of all streetlights in Tennant Creek and Elliott Municipal services for the 7 town camps in Tennant Creek Removal of graffiti in public spaces Collaboration is a word that is frequently applied under this directorate and this directorate strives to work effectively and closely together with all relevant stakeholders in a safe manner focussing on continuous improvement, quality output and budget compliance.
