New Footy Oval - Elliott A new footy oval to AFL standards was constructed in Elliott at Lot 141 Kooringa Street. The Department of Tourism and Culture NT contributed $500,000 funding in addition to the $400,000 contributed by Barkly Regional Council. The project was commenced in June 2018 with the assistance of Origin Energy who cleared the land at no cost to Council. The concept for the new football field came from the Elliott Local Authority and was a priority on Councils five year Infrastructure plan. The new oval is centrally located and available for all residents and visitors to use, this great new asset will be maintained by Council staff based at Elliott. The oval represents a significant investment by Council which we hope to expand in the near future by installing change rooms and toilet facilities to compliment the ground once funding is available to assist to cover the cost. Council continues to invest in infrastructure to meet the needs of our residents and the new Elliott football oval is a great example of what can be achieved when we work together towards a common goal. 48 2018 - 2019 Annual Report
