TO THE HONOURABLE THE SPEAKER AND MEMBERS OF THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE NORTHERN TERRITORY: The humble petition of the undersigned citizens respectfully showeth that they are opposed to the pr o1iferation of strip shows and the use of bare-breasted waitresses in hotels and i restaurants. These activities are degrading to women and family life as well as to those who participate. Sexual abuse and family violence are rampant in our society. These activities only exacerbate the problem, thus undermining family life. Your petitioners therefore humbly pray that the Legislative Assembly of the Northern Territory will remove strip shows out of the hotel industry and will formulate a Code of Ethics enforceable by law against licenced places offering strip shows.
