Annotation. The report identifies current legal needs in civil, family and criminal law areas for both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people living the in Barkly region of the Northern Territory. The research involved engaging people in various Barkly communities. The Barkly Shire covers an area about one and a half times the size of the state of Victoria and has a population of less than 7000 people, more than two thirds of whom are Aboriginal. The research explores access to legal information and assistance and makes recommendations for improved access to justice.,
