12 NEWS WEDNESDAY APRIL 28 2021 NTNE01Z01MA - V1 Victor of the 2021 Australias Fiercest Bloody Mullet Izaac Mason at Nhulunbuy skate park EIGHT-YEAR-OLD Izaac Mason has been crowned the undisputed winner of Australias Fiercest Bloody Mullet for 2021. The Nhulunbuy youngster won the popular vote among NT News readers out of a pool of 50 entries. Hes a little bogan through and through and this mullet was his choice, proud mum Jasmin Foster said. Hes had this haircut since he was five. He loves it so much that no ones allowed to touch it, only the hairdresser. We cant even send him to a private school because he refuses to part with it. The Flying Mullet of Tennant Creeks Spitfires footy, Micky Jones, was voted second, followed by beloved Humpty Doo pooch Lucky DaPom. Seth Vanderkley of Bees Creek, South Darwin Rabbitohs player Phoebe Caudill, Braeden Parnell of The Narrows and Waratah Womens player Isabella Rapson all tied for fourth. NATASHA EMECK NHULUNBUY MULLET VOTED NO.1 Brawl at Cas Square Chairs thrown, guard assaulted SECURITY measures at Casuarina Square Shopping Centre have been beefed up amid concerns of anti-social behaviour, including the shocking assault of a security guard by a group of youths. Shocked shoppers at the Casuarina Square were confronted by a group of about six youths allegedly throwing chairs and attacking a security guard on Monday. Northern Watch Commander Sonia Kennon said security at the centre directed the youths to leave Kmart at about 4pm. The youths later congregated around the entrance of Kmart and attacked a security guard who sustained minor injuries, she said. The youths then commenced throwing chairs around the complex. As the youths left the area, two of them, aged 13 and 14, were apprehen ded by security guards. At the time of police attendance, the security guard who had sustained injures was unsure whether he wanted to make a formal complaint, but police will be making further inquiries regarding this incident, she said. It comes after a 14-year-old girl allegedly threatened to stab a woman during an attempted bag-snatching in the food court earlier this month. A Casuarina Square spokesman said that they continually reviewed security across the centre to ensure it provided a safe environment for shoppers and retailers. Casuarina Squares security management program includes dedicated on-site security patrols of all areas of the centre, and the security presence at the centre has been increased in light of recent events, he said. The centre maintains a very close working relationship with NT Police, who have a regular presence at centre managements request. NATASHA EMECK *$1 = 100 Points on the Camel Card.
