History
Part of the US 7th Fleet in Fremantle from October 1942 (TF 71.4). Tjerk Hiddes made three successful trips to occupied Timor in December 1942, and evacuated hard pressed Australian and Dutch troops and civilian refugees. She worked in escort services until January 1944 and was part of the Eastern Fleet from February 1944. She was known as the Timor Ferry and made 3 trips to Darwin carrying troops.,
