History

Castlemaine is the only World War 2 corvette still afloat and is now a museum ship moored at Williamstown, Victoria. She was in the same convoy as the Armidale, when it was sunk. She carried war correspondent Damien Parer on one of the Timor runs. She did escort duty on the Darwin toThursday Island route clocking up over 25 voyages from Darwin during the 1942-1945 period.,
