History

Destroyers USS Barker, USS Parrott, USS Bulmer, USS Stewart and USS Pope as well as cruisers USS Boise and USS Marblehead escorted the Bloemfontein from Darwin, arriving in Surabaya on 11 January 1942. They transported the 2 Battalion and 131 Field Artillery who then joined other Allied Forces already in Surabaya.
