History

During the bombing of Darwin Harbour on 19 February 1942 the Wato moved an oil lighter away from the Barossa and then moved the Barossa away from the Neptuna before Neptuna's cargo of depth charges exploded. Wato was the oldest commissioned vessel in the Royal Australian Navy in the Second World War.,
