History
Requisitioned in 1940 the 'Zed' was the first passenger liner to carry a wireless telegraph and operated as a passenger ship on the Sydney-Fremantle run during peacetime. Used as a troop transporter for Sparrow Force on the Timor Ferry Service she made 7 journeys into Darwin. Zealandia was the last ship attacked and sunk on 19 February 1942. Jack Mulholland arrived in Darwin with the 14 Heavy Anti aircraft Battery on the Zealandia on 22 November 1940. Jack is the author of "Darwin bombed: an A/A gunner's reflections".,
