History

Requisitioned in 1941 the Kelat was originally a fully-rigged windjammer. She was used as a coal hulk and sank, as a result of damage from the bombing, on 19 February 1942. She was fully laden with coal when she sank and for almost a year afterwards working parties from HMAS Platypus would recover coal from her holds as it was required.,
