History
Tulagi had left Darwin on the 14 February but returned on the 17 February and was in Darwin Harbour 19 February 1942. She left under escort by Lithgow on the 28 February. Tulagi also served as a USAT for a finite period and was mustered out in January/February 1944. She was back in British service when torpedoed and sunk in the Indian Ocean by U-532 in late March 1944. Her survivors experienced a long and terrible ordeal before finally being rescued.,
