History

Plover, a lugger, had an Australian owner with a Japanese background. It was found hidden off Bathurst Island and was brought back to Darwin and impounded. It was fitted with a machine gun and the Royal Australian Navy utilised it as a intra-harbour lighter and despatch craft.,
