History
The Squadron was formed at Richmond in New South Wales, February 1943 and equipped with Boomerang fighters. They served at Horn Island before a brief two month deployment to Livingstone. Prior to moving to the Northern Territory they were re-equipped with Kittyhawks. They moved to Aitkenvale in Queensland May 1944 and were disbanded 29 January 1946.,
