Most recently, they have provided a submission to the Federal Inquiry into Housing Affordability and Supply in Australia, in which they discussed the need for a national housing plan, tax and policy settings, addressing housing as infrastructure, and planning measures to improve housing affordability and supply. National Shelter has been prominent in establishing the new National Affordable Housing Alliance with HIA, the Property Council of Australia, Master Builders, the ACTU, CHIA, ACOSS and Homelessness Australia along with peak superannuation bodies. National Shelter is also prominent in the Constellation Project which has a range of resources and is promoting the Affordable Housing Boost and Aggregator which would be a major program for community housing if successful, as well as a national framework for Mandatory Inclusionary Zoning.
