The Legal Aid Act mandates NTLAC to provide community legal education to ensure access to justice. NTLACs strategic plan 2020-25 notes as part of our purpose to ensure that people in the NT understand their legal rights in uniquely challenging circumstances because of isolation, a small population, geographic dispersal, cultural diversity, economic hardship and disadvantage to our first nations people." Our values of social justice, cultural respect, Integrity, professionalism, commitment to the law, ethics, innovation, and continuous improvement for quality services, accountability, sustainability all support and guide the importance of CLE work.
