Northern Territory Government Gazette No. G7, 16 February 2022 Page 5 Northern Territory of Australia Work Health and Safety (National Uniform Legislation) Act 2011 Work Health and Safety Advisory Council Members Expressions of Interest The Attorney-General and Minister for Justice invites nominations from interested persons within the Northern Territory who: Have a wide range of experience extending as far as possible across all major industry sectors in the Territory. As far as practicable, consist of representatives of organization's representing employers or organization's representing employees. The Work Health and Safety Advisory Council comprises of no more than ten members appointed by the Minister and a member constituting the Authority. The Council has the following functions: (a) to keep under review the operation of the Act; (b) to make recommendations to the Minister on possible changes to: (i) the administration of the Act; or (ii) standards of work health and safety in the Territory; (c) at the request of the Minister, to investigate and report to the Minister on matters relating to work health and safety; and (d) to perform any other advisory functions relating to work health and safety as the Minister directs. An appointed member holds office for the period, not exceeding two years, specified in the appointment. Sitting fees are available to members.
