Abstract
Donated by Michael Fonda and Liam Golding on behalf of the Sunshower Communications Working Group July 2020, the Strider Collection includes ephemera from various campaigns; diaries and correspondence; submissions to various Inquiries, Reference groups and the like.
The collection contains several hundred documents mostly written by Strider, as well as documents written by Strider’s mother Molly Walsh. Ownership of the latter devolved to Strider after her death and in turn ownership of these devolved to Michael Fonda following Strider’s death. There are documents not written by Strider or Molly Walsh but which are relevant to this collection, cited by Strider
Recognising the value of his papers, after Strider’s death his executor and other friends formed the Sunshower Communications Working Group. One of Strider’s wishes was that a library and place of ecological learning might be created at the Humpty Doo Solar Village. Much of the material in the collection had been damaged by termites and other insects and was largely unordered when the Sunshower Communications Working Group began creating a library and digitising the material in the collection. The material was gathered from the sheds, humpies and dongas in which it was stored at the Humpty Doo Solar Village, as well as other locations; then arranged, scanned and offered to LANT.
The collection contains a mixture of papers, newspaper clippings, reports, photos, cards, postcards, sketches, and hand drawn maps.,
