Notes
Pintupi lanaguage,
This booklet has been prepared as supplementary reading material for new literates among the Pintupi group of Central Australia. Wiita Pakaltjanganytjaku (Concerning the Growth of Wheat) outlines stages in the growing of wheat and the production and distribution of bread. Most of the Pintupi speakers are situated at Papunya and Yuendumu Settlements in the Northern Territory. There are a smaller number of speakers at Balgo Hills Mission in Western Australia. This booklet was adapted for Aboriginal languages from Wheat, a booklet in the My World series written by D.W. Morrissey, B.A. Dip.Ed. and E.W. Morrissey, Mus.Bac. and published by Longmans of Australia Pty. Ltd. The Summer Institute of Linguistics expresses gratitude to Longmans of Australia Pty. Ltd. for permission to reproduce the booklet.,
